Call for members for FSRA’s Financial Planners and Financial Advisors Stakeholder Advisory Committee
The Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario (FSRA) is encouraging consumer / investor advocates, approved credentialing bodies, financial services trade / industry associations and professionals working in the financial services sector to apply to its Financial Planners and Financial Advisors Stakeholder Advisory Committee. The individuals selected will provide advice to FSRA’s Board of Directors and management on the regulator’s priorities, budget and other matters the Board deems appropriate.
FSRA is looking for 14 stakeholder-members for a two-year term commencing in Fall 2022. Stakeholder nominees should be senior members of their respective organization or profession. They will be expected to represent their organization or profession on relevant issues and have direct and extensive experience relating to one or more of the following areas within the financial services marketplace:
- accreditation and certification
- financial planning and/or advisory services
- administration and operation of a financial services designation / licensing program
- consumer / investor advocacy
FSRA’s Financial Professionals Title Protection Rule sets minimum education, examination, conduct, and oversight standards for the use of the Financial Planner and Financial Advisor titles in Ontario.
