Licensing processing times

FSRA’s processing times are updated on a weekly basis. The updated estimates give you a better idea of the timeline you can expect for your application to be processed.

FSRA’s service standard target is 20 business days and the following processing times apply to 75 per cent of applications received. If your application was submitted before the date posted and your information has not been updated in the public registry, it’s because FSRA may require additional information or need to review your application further. You’ll receive an email when FSRA begins this additional review.

Notice

Please check Licensing Link to see if your licence application has been approved. If your name does not appear, then your application is still in process and may require additional review or documentation for processing.  Approximately 25 per cent of applications received require additional review by FSRA. To see if your license has been approved, check the public registry:

When does the processing time start?

Your processing time will start on the day FSRA receives your complete application and payment of fees.

When is the processing time completed?

Processing is complete when your license information appears or is updated on the public registry.

When can I inquire about my application?

We cannot provide a timeframe for when your licence will be issued as each application is unique. There are many factors that may contribute to the processing time.

While many applications are processed quickly, others may require additional review or documentation, resulting in a longer turnaround time. If additional information is required, the licensing specialist assigned to your file will notify you by email. FSRA ensures all licensees adhere to all ongoing licensing requirements to maintain the licence.

Why do some applications require additional review?

In certain cases, FSRA may need to review applications further. This may include situations where:

  • FSRA requires more information about your education
  • new information was provided in the application
  • FSRA has identified an issue and needs to follow up with you
  • you have not completed a criminal record check
